Considerations Before Registering for a Mentoring Workshop:

Before registering, please review the following important requirements and recommendations:

  • Assessment Experience
Registrants must have hands-on experience administering Acadience® assessments or practicing scoring with students, and using the resulting data for instructional review and planning. This experience does not require full responsibility as an assessor but should include meaningful engagement with the assessment process.
  • Recommended Practice
We strongly recommend that participants have used Acadience® assessment data from at least two benchmark windows to inform instructional decisions prior to attending the mentoring workshop. This ensures practical experience in data review and application.

  • Prerequisite Workshops
Completion of the required prerequisite workshops is necessary before registering. These foundational trainings prepare you for the content and expectations of the live session.

  • Timing Requirement
Prerequisite workshops must have been completed within the past five years to ensure your knowledge is current and aligned with present practices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility is determined based on the completion of prerequisite content within the last five years, as documented during the preregistration process. For those in our system and who have taken coursework with Acadience, the system will auto-verify completion. For those trained locally, Acadience Learning requests and reviews the submitted documentation to ensure it meets the requirements. If there are any questions or additional steps needed, a member of the professional learning team will contact the registrant.

To review more detailed information about what is entailed to become an Acadience Mentor, please review the Appendices in this resource document.

No, registrations will not process unless pre-requisite trainings have been completed. Seats are not held in the training events unless pre-requisites are complete and payment is received.

Acadience Learning provides both workshops in an asynchronous, self-paced format. If both workshops are completed three weeks before the Mentoring Workshop, and the registrant has both assessed students using the Acadience assessment and used the data to plan, the registrant will be verified to attend.

The registrant may provide ALI asynchronous workshop in progress, or live training completed in the boxes requesting this information in preregistration (e.g., date: currently enrolled, location: ALI Asynchronous, trainer: trainer name). Once these are completed, registration will be finalized.

To review more detailed information about what is entailed to become an Acadience Mentor, please see Appendix A through D.

Possibly. If you completed a prerequisite workshop with a local Mentor rather than directly through Acadience, eligibility can still be confirmed by meeting the following requirements:

  1. Complete a Verification of Knowledge assessment provided by Acadience. You must pass this assessment within three (3) attempts.

  2. Submit training details, including the name of the Mentor who conducted your workshop.

Acadience will verify that:

  • Your local training occurred within the last five (5) years, and

  • The trainer was an active Acadience Mentor at the time of your training for the relevant workshop(s).

Once these conditions are met, the Acadience Professional Learning Team will provide access to the required Verification of Knowledge assessment(s).

Please Note: If the assessment is not passed within three attempts, you will need to complete the corresponding Acadience asynchronous workshop(s) and the Culminating Knowledge Assessment(s) to move forward.

  • For in-person workshops, training materials will be provided to verified participants upon arrival on the day of the workshop.

  • For virtual workshops, training materials are shipped to the address provided at the time of registration. Materials are ordered once registration is received.

Final workshop details, including the agenda and logistics, will be emailed to verified registrants at least one week prior to the workshop date. A reminder email will also be sent the day before the workshop.

For virtual workshops, this email will include a Zoom registration link. Please be sure to complete the Zoom registration before the morning of the workshop to ensure timely access.

Following the Mentoring Workshop, participation in the live training will be verified, which may take up to two weeks. Once verified, you will receive access to the asynchronous New Mentor Orientation.

To receive official Mentor status and your Certificate of Completion, you must complete all self-paced content and sign the Mentor Use Agreement. Once these steps are completed, your certificate confirming Mentor status will be emailed for your records.

Once live workshop participation is verified, access to the self-paced New Mentor Orientation in My Acadience Training will be activated. New Mentor Orientation includes:

  • Mentor Role Description Overview
  • Getting Started resources and FAQs
  • Overview of the Mentors' Network (private mentor website)
  • Mentor Use Agreement submission

Estimated Time Commitment:

  • Reading K–6: 4–6 hours
  • Math K–6: ~2 hours
  • PELI (Pre-K): Up to 2 hours

Orientation does not need to be completed in one sitting, but must be finished within 12 months of the live workshop to remain eligible for certification. Late completion may require retaking both components.

Upon completion, a Mentor Certificate will be issued, and access to the Mentors' Network will be granted within two weeks. Rush processing is available upon completion of New Mentor Orientation.

Once you have completed the New Mentor Orientation, please allow up to two weeks to receive access to the Mentors’ Network, where training materials are housed.

If you need access sooner, a rush option is available for a minimal fee.

Mentors must complete an Annual Renewal process to maintain their credential. This begins each January following the completion of the live Mentoring Workshop and New Mentor Orientation.

There is a two-week, no-cost window to complete the renewal. If it is not completed during that time, a small registration fee will be required to cover administrative costs.
