Acadience® Reading Diagnostic:

Phonemic Awareness & Word Reading and Decoding (PA & WRD) Workshop

Learn how to administer and score.

Asynchronous, Self-paced Learning

This workshop introduces users to the Acadience Reading Diagnostic: PA & WRD (Phonemic Awareness & Word Reading and Decoding). PA & WRD is an in-depth Diagnostic: assessment that assists educators with measuring phonemic awareness skills, including tasks like segmenting and blending compound words, syllables, and phonemes. In addition, the range of word reading and decoding skills typically taught in grades K-3 is assessed. The workshop provides training on how to administer and score the PA & WRD. Additionally, the logistics of assessment and the use of the two assessments in an outcomes-driven model are supported. Practice activities and case examples explore the connections between these assessments to provide a complete picture of student skills from benchmark screening to Diagnostic: testing, instruction, and ultimately an evaluation of that instruction with progress monitoring.

Acadience Reading Mentors who complete this workshop can earn the PA & WRD endorsement and will be given access to Acadience Learning’s official training materials to train others.
